The 3-star oceanfront Castle Kaha Lani
Resort is nestled in a lush tropical rain
forest featuring one- and two-bedroom
condominiums that either front the ocean or
have a view of it. Bordered by a golf course
on one side and the ocean on the other, the
Kaha Lani features two and three story
plantation style wood buildings, with stairs
- but as always on the island of Kauai, it
is worth the climb up for the views alone.
The condos are all nonsmoking.
Property amenities include illuminated
tennis courts, putting green with sand
traps, laundry facilities, heated swimming
pool, wireless internet access at front
office (fee), sun deck, barbeque area,
complimentary parking and more. There is a
sandy beach, but quite often the water is
too rough for swimming, but on the north
side of the resort is Lydgate County Park
with a lifeguard, excellent safe swimming, a
wide beach, large playground for children
and picnic tables.
While there are no on-site restaurants, just
two miles north is the Coconut Marketplace
with quite a few bars and restaurants and
further along the road is a large Safeway
Grocery store where you can pick up supplies
to stock your kitchen. The charming town of
Kapa'a is a little further along the road
and also has a number of popular
restaurants.
Kaha Lani means "Heavenly Place" in Hawaiian
and the name certainly fits this property.
It gets wonderful reviews from guests and
has many return visitors. Again, this is a
resort for those who want to get away from
all the commercialism and stresses of
everyday life. Enjoy time to relax on your
lanai. Watch the waves, make a wish on a
star, sip on a cocktail and chat with the
one you love - isn't that what vacations are
supposed to be about? |
