OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Castle Resort's 3.5-star Kiahuna Plantation
& Beach Bungalows are located on 35 acres of
tropical paradise ocean front along one of
Kauai's best known beaches, Poipu. There are
42 plantation-style buildings spread out
throughout the large grounds, all facing
Poipu Beach, a "best beach in America"
winner several years ago.
The buildings are three stories high and
there is no elevator, but the views from the
top floors are just stunning and well worth
the climb. Think of it as exercise, because
once you come here it will be terribly
tempting to laze your days away, wandering
through the grounds, lolling on the beach,
enjoying the entire island experience.
Property amenities include a Super Pool with
water slide, sun deck, beach activity
center, complimentary parking, laundry
facilities, sun deck, barbeque grills and
picnic area, security, Concierge, tennis
courts, childcare referral and more.
You can pick up steaks or hamburgers at one
of the local grocery stores to cook on one
of the barbeque grills, or check out some of
the very good restaurants located nearby.
Right on the grounds is Plantation Gardens,
set in an old plantation manager's home and
surrounded by tropical trees, exotic plants
and 60-year old Koi (Carp) ponds. Featuring
Hawaiian regional cuisine the restaurant has
both inside dining and outdoor lanai seating
open daily from 5:30 pm. All the herbs and
vegetable are grown organically and are
picked fresh on local farms with all grilled
seafood, fish and meats grilled over
Hawaiian Kiawe (Mesquite) wood . The bar
features handcrafted tropical drinks and
specialty cocktails and opens daily at 5 pm.
The grounds are quite special and include
the Moir Gardens, known as one of the very
best in the world for succulents and cactus,
as well as ancient Hawaiian lava rock walls,
orchids gardens, gigantic monkey pod trees,
Plumeria trees, hibiscus and various lava
rock ponds.
This is a resort for those who really want
to get away from the stresses of todays
lifestyle of too many e-mails, too many
phone calls and so little time to just
actually sit down and enjoy the moment. Here
you can do that, but if you are looking for
all the luxuries with spas and constant
entertainment, this probably would not be
the place for you. |
