The 3-star Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation two
story condominiums are located in the
popular resort area of Poipu Beach
consistently rated as one of the world's
best beaches by readers of Condé Nast and
Travel & Leisure magazine. There are 30
acres of lush tropical plantings and rolling
lawns at this great beach front one and two
bedroom condo. A two night minimum stay is
required year round and the property is
nonsmoking. There are no elevators, but the
walk up the stairs is well worth it for the
view and the quieter condo.
When checking in, guests receive a packet of
three postcards, one packet per room.
Postcards From Paradise will be mailed by
the Outrigger at no cost to anywhere in the
world. Additional postcards may be purchased
at the Reception Desk, which also will be
mailed at no cost. With a minimum three
night stay, children, 5 to 10 years of age
(2 maximum) are given a free Island Explorer
Kit at check-in. Each Island Explorer Kit
includes a Friends of the Reef Adventure
Guide/Let's Explore Hawaii Guide, colorful
backpack, sunglasses, pen and binoculars.
The architecture of the buildings is
reminiscent of 19th century Hawaiian
plantation houses and the atmosphere is
definitely relaxing and carefree. There are
shady Monkeypod trees to sit under, delicate
Plumeria trees scenting the air, palms
swaying and beautiful gardens to explore.
One is the Moir Gardens with their renowned
collection of cacti and orchids.
Property amenities include an Activities
Desk, barbeque and picnic areas, beach
services, laundry facility, laundry/dry
cleaning valet, luggage storage, porterage
on request (fee), video movie rental, full
kitchens, business services, internet access
in public areas (fee), complimentary parking
and Concierge services. The condo provides
complimentary access to the Kiahuna Swim &
Tennis Club, across the street from the
property. There is a large swimming pool
with a waterslide and sand-bottom area for
children, whirlpool and 10 tennis courts.
There is a great swimming area and the
Activity Hut rents out snorkel sets and
boogie boards at very reasonable rates as
well as providing complimentary beach towels
and chair to use on the beach.
The Plantation Gardens Restaurant & Bar is
in a nostalgic plantation manager's estate
set in amongst lush gardens and Koi (carp)
ponds. Plantation Gardens has been a
favorite in Poipu for over 30 years. With an
open-air lanai, bamboo ceiling fans, a solid
Koa wood bar and Brazilian Cherrywood
floors, it is beautiful spot for a unique
Hawaiian dining experience. The cuisine is a
fine blend of old and new culinary
traditions, featuring fresh island produce
and fish from Seafood Laulau to Banana
Lumpia dessert. Open daily from 5:30 to 9 pm
daily, reservations suggested. The bar is
open from 5 pm daily, serving cocktails and
appetizers. The other on-site restaurant is
the Casa Blanca at Kiahuna Restaurant
located at the Swim and Tennis Club.
Offering al fresco dining and full bar, open
for lunch, tapas and dinner.
There are upscale shops within walking
distance at Poipu Shopping Village, access
to the amenities and services of the
neighboring Sheraton Resort, steps to
shopping and dining at Kiahuna Shopping
Center and across the street from Kiahuna
Golf Course. |
