OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
It's a good spot for
swimming and getting an excellent view of
nearby mountain ranges and ships coming in
and out of Nawiliwili Harbor.
Ninini (pouring) Beach is so named because
because of fresh water that runs out from
under a bluff and across the beach during
heavy rains. The beach also is known as
"Running Waters" Beach. It's a good spot for
swimming.
The Ninini Lighthouse is the most worthwhile
reason to visit this beach. If there is
someone on duty see if you can go to the
top. You will have an outstanding view and
will also be able to take some great
pictures. |

DIRECTIONS |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Hidden
along a rocky coastline between Nawiliwili
Bay and the lighthouse on Ninini Point.
Ninini Beach and Running Water Beach are
pocket beaches separated by a lava rock
formation and protected by currents and
winds. Take the road leading through the
Kauai Marriott Resort and park at the golf
course clubhouse. A path by the 13th green
will take you to a steeper path that will
lead you to the beach. |

PLEASE NOTE |
|
| |
|
|
| |
While
Hawaii's beaches can bring much enjoyment,
it is always a good practice to use common
sense while visiting them. Please be aware
of the wave & wind conditions before going
into the water. Mornings are usually best
for swimming, snorkeling or diving. Have
respect for the strength of the waves and be
aware that high surf can come up at any
time. NEVER turn your back to the ocean.
Be careful when exploring any rocky
shorelines. Waves can crash on the rocks and
knock you over easily, and the rocks may
also be sharp when walking on them.
When snorkeling or scuba diving, please have
respect for ocean life, and remember that
the coral reef is alive too. Avoid standing
on or touching if at all possible. |
