OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Holoholoku
Heiau, believed to be the oldest on the
island. Near the Opaeka‘a Falls overlook is
Poliahu Heiau, a large enclosure of black
lava rock which had been the personal temple
of Kaua‘i's last king, Kaumuali‘i. This is
also believed to have been built by the
Menehune. A large
stone adjacent to nearby ruins is the
birthstone, the sacred site of royal births
on Kauai. |
