OVERVIEW |

Located
across the street from the Menehune Ditch is
the Swinging Bridge that crosses the Waimea
River. This bridge provides the only access
to farms on the other side of the river. The
original suspension bridge was destroyed by
Hurricane Iniki in 1992 but a new one was
finally rebuilt in 1996. |

Take
Highway 50 west from Hanapepe toward Waimea.
Turn right on Menehune Road just before Mile
Marker #23. The bridge crosses the Waimea
River on the right side of the road. |
